Today is a going to be a quick little post. The sun is peeking out and I am hoping to enjoy it a little. Right now it's shining on our new little friend Todd. Or as Olive calls him, Toddie.

Olive was so happy to find a boy Barbie. Not a dad, not a dumb old GI Joe from Oscar and Hans' room, but a real boy. It only sweetened the deal that he came along with his only Happy Meal. We don't eat at
McDonalds, except for maybe once a year, although I do love their Cokes. Hans and Olive have a fascination with them, they are like the forbidden city. Especially the play places, those
skeeve me out too bad. I like the size of the box in proportion to the doll. Anyway, we'll get right to it tonight. Where do you like to eat out? We hardly ever eat out due to the fact that we have children. But there are a few places that we enjoy.
#1. IKEA cafeteria. We eat here at least once a week. Pete and the kids love the meatballs. I like the Ligonberries and we all love the fries. #2. Wild Wheat in Kent, WA. My dad and I ate here for lunch and I have sweet dreams about their lamb burger. They have awesome breads and pastries. I took my Mom and John there for breakfast and it was wonderful also.#3. Rubios. When Pete and I are in Salt Lake we eat here as often as possible. Fish tacos for a dollar on Tuesdays rule. #4. Giannis Pizza in Monterey. Mostly this place is just where we usually end up for family gatherings and it holds a great deal of memories for me. I especially like to remember when we first received our dog Sophie as a puppy and Luisa brought her in her jacket.
#5. Lets wrap this list up classy. Costco has become a staple for us. You cannot beat a $1.50 meal and I will never forgive Kim for turning me on to churros. As you can see, we are a family ruled by our children. Someday though we'll eat out on our own. How about you?

Point Loma Seafood- You will never have seafood better than this! It is right on the docks in Point Loma. It is ALWAYS crowded but so worth the wait! And sitting outside watching the boats go by on a sunny San Diego day, how could you ask for more?
Del Taco- I hate to admit this but it really is my favorite fast food place.
Red Robin- This is a great place to take the family. It is loud so the girls blend right in and the food is good. We've never left with any unhappy eaters.
P.F. Chang's- This is were we go when we aren't taking the girls. It is a nice change of pace and the food is wonderful.
Rubio's- We love Rubio's! Mattie your right, there is nothing better than a fish taco. The original Rubio's (#1) is down the street from my mom's house. And in San Diego they are just about everywhere you go.
First of all I like that Todd holds his tray like a normal kid, but somehow the food stays on it. If my portions were in the same proportion as his I'd call them happy too.
1. Phil's Fish Market & Eatery - Moss Landing, CA. Not fancy but great fresh seafood.
2. Foster's Freeze - Good burgers but go for the shakes!
3. Bahama Billy's - Carmel, CA. We usually eat on the patio because they let you bring your dog. Great coconut prawns and tropical drinks.
4. The Screen Door - Portland, Oregon. Alexandra and David took us here and I love this place. Southern food and refreshing drinks.
5. Nepenthe - Big Sur, CA. The food is good but the view is the thing. Nothing like a sunny day on the patio.
Mattie I literally have had dreams about the lamb burgers.
Chili's - Take out chips and queso are YUM!
Cilantros - Best garden burrito in town.
Wendys - The girls love the new 99cent Stack Attack. I love the 99cent Frosty.
In-N-Out Burger - Too bad we have to drive all the way to St. George.
Fat Burger - A favorite when in Las Vegas.
Brittney- Everytime I pass a Del Taco I think of you! Also, marie Calendars is kind of a great memory for me,
Trisha- Shut the front door!! There is an In-N-Out in St George! I actually wrote emails on their website when I first moved from California, suggesting a Utah location. Lame I know but man I missed it. Also, Pete and I are dying for you and Ryan to come visit. We have a Fat Burger a mile from here!
Dad- Your list is obviously from a very sophisticated person. I made a cheap knock off of the lamb burgers last night. I am going to have to take Pete sometime. Also, after a lot of teasing Olive that Todd is her boyfriend she declared that "he is a bad kisser" and sometimes "when you are dating him, he is angry" Time to move on to a Ken.
Sushi! 9 out of 10 times when we eat out, this is what we want. I'm a purist though, no Philly, Mexican, or other fake rolls, and no mayo in my sushi either. I am really particular about fish, especially raw. You have to observe the quality/price ratio. I'd rather have one good quality meal than 5 cheap ones.
1. Burma Super Star, SF
Who knew I loved Burmese food? Tea leaf salad, lamb curry and Burma coolers are addictive. Also within one mile of our apartment.
2. Hiroshi, Portland
Really incredible sushi, we've been multiple times and it never gets old. The pastry chef hand churns the green tea ice cream!
3. Okina Sushi, SF
A block from our apartment, only open Fri & Sat from 5-10, one sushi chef and one waiter, five small tables, five chairs at the sushi bar.
4. Blowfish Sushi, SF
The opposite of the above, huge screens playing non-stop anime, full bar with specialty cocktails, hot sushi chefs.
5. Tawans Thai, SF
My ideal restaurant, super small, family run, incredible food. We've taken everybody here. The thung thong is one of my favorite foods of all time. Named after their son, he often does his homework after school on the back corner table (of which there are only 7). Mom cooks, Grandma preps, and Dad delivers.
I never did like Todd. Something about the way he wore his hat. Reminded me of a juvenile K Fed. Showing off with his super size meal! Good riddance I say!
I definitely agree with many spots. Gianni's, Rubio's, P.F. Chang's, Nepenthe, Chili's, all good.
In our little town, Chili's is the nicest. But down the freeway a bit is a great bbq place named Sweet Lumpy's. This is my favorite! They have the best lemonade and sweet tea, and the brisket is so yum.
Of course John and I are getting healthy and enjoying nutrisystem right now, so this list is killing me. But he's down 24, and I'm down 13, so eating out only once, maybe twice a week is worth it.
April
Good for you April! I have to admit that this list was based on all the food I've been thinking I wish I could have. I'm trying to get back to my healthy eating also. I have gained 20 pounds since I moved!!
Mattie
There have been tales told about the St. George In-N-Out for a while now. We haven't eaten there yet, but just a couple of weeks ago we got confirmation that it really does exist. Ryan's boss was there and called to tell Ryan that he saw it with his own two eyes!!!
Trisha-
Now that you have visual confirmation, I think it's time for you and Ryan to have a weekend getaway. How many do you think you could eat in a weekend? We miss you and I love when you post!
