Home.

I had good intentions of a list last week but preparations got in the way. We made it to Utah without any rain or snow and apparently missed a pretty big storm. There is a ton of snow here but it's nice and sunny and I have really been enjoying it. The kids are having so much fun fun with their cousins. There have been a few sleepovers and Olive has been going to school with Grandma.
I am so happy to be back in Utah. I love it here, it's just home. We have a few days left but I am already sad about leaving. We are going to stop in on Team Weitzman on the way back to Washington. I am excited to see Portland (and the Weitzmans!) , I haven't been downtown before. That will be something to look forward to. Right now though I am enjoying being with our family. I am writing this from Kims house where we just had lunch and I am awaiting some pie. The boys are adorable and just the sweetest babies. It was kind of like a blog reunion to be with both Kim and Annisha and I am actively trying to recruit some new bloggers.
So, since I am here and on the computer I will add my Wednesday list now. There are so many stories to tell but I want to enjoy my visiting so, it will wait for our return. Pete and I have enjoyed some time on our own which doesn't often happen and we have looked around at some houses. I love my family in the Northwest, but Utah is just my home. Where have you lived? Five might be hard on this list but I'm not too creative right now. Maybe you can supplement with where you would like to live. Here's mine...
#1. Pacific Grove,Ca. Best town ever!
#2. Salinas, Ca. I liked this for the fact that we lived two blocks from Pats parents.
#3. Salt Lake City,Utah. I moved here the first day of the new millenium! I lived here for five years and could not wait to move. Hindsight is 20/20.
#4. Auburn,Wa. This has been a good experience for us. I have really enjoyed Washington, it is a beautiful place.
#5. I think one place I have always wanted to live would be San Luis Obispo. That was our other choice when Pat and I moved to SLC but it was pricey. I think in the big picture it was just meant to be Utah but man Slo town is nice.
I miss my blog and can't wait to update you all on our travels. I am also excited to see how my fellow bloggers, or the bloggin' trifecta felt about our time together. Miss everyone and be back soon!

It is so good to see a new blog entry! I've had withdrawals this week, I think I've checked it at least twice everyday in the hopes of seeing something new. I'm glad you're having so much fun, I'm starting to accept that you will be moving back eventually. I understand, we all want to feel at home. Speaking of home...
1. Pacific Grove, CA The most important place in my life, my birthplace. Living there as an adult had a huge impact on my life, and my relationship with my family. My studio apt. was only about four houses away from Lovers Point. Taking my cup of coffee down to the beach before work was just a part of the really nice life I had there. It sounds silly but I really feel an ownership towards it, I am one of three generations of our family to grow up there and I will never know another place as intimately.
2. San Francisco, CA My true second home, I have lived here twice. The perfect balance for me between city life (which I love), and a 2 hour drive home to PG (which I made at least one weekend of every month).
3. Seattle, WA I lived in Queen Anne, which I adore. Bought my first car, a 1981 Mercury Capri, which I ran into the ground exploring western Washington and up into Vancouver when the exchange rate was a lot better.
4. Portland, OR We have been here for 15 months, and I'm starting to settle in. It's a nice big small town, not a whole lot of city atmosphere, but cool neighborhoods and really down to earth people.

Okay, it took me awhile to sort my thoughts out. First, I'm glad you guys are having a good time. I love the pictures, what a great looking group. Secondly, like Alexandra I am slowly accepting the idea of you moving away from the Pacific Northwest. You need to be where your heart is and I look forward to visiting. As for my list:

1. Monterey, CA I was born here and lived in my Grandmother's house for three years.
2. Pacific Grove,CA Been here for 50 years. When you find paradise you stay put. I have been blessed to grow up here and raise my family here.
3. Salinas,CA A two year stay here. Loved our house. The best part of living here was having a pool the kids could swim in and giving Siobhan driving lessons. Watch out world she's ready to roll!
That's it till Oregon.

Thanks for the great visit! It was so great to hang out with you in person!

1. Taylorsville, UT Born and raised. My parents still live in the same house they did when I was born.

2. Galveston, TX Hot, humid, and very interesting place.

3. Columbus, OH Cold winters, but great place.

4. Hampton, VA Loved it! Beautiful area.

5. Waikele, HI Perfect weather, close access to many beaches, beautiful. If there weren't mammoth-sized bugs here, it literally would be paradise.
