O.R.- Federal Butt Inspector
I feel that I have done a great disservice to my older son. He was a dream on this trip. Helpful with all the kids. He played and entertained and took a million pictures, which I hope to get permission to share here. Oscar is just so cool and I would like to share a few things about him. He is a list maker, like his mom. He recently has entertained the thought of bleaching his hair. He grabbed a napkin at Grandma Double R's and proceeded to take a survey. No word yet on his decision, but he has some opinions now.
This is a little gem that I came across the day we left. Oscar sails about a million paper planes a day. He tracks and records their attributes and flight patterns. I mistakenly assumed this was a run of the mill FBI plane for awhile until I got close enough to read the rest.
I think I have mentioned his habit of "collecting" items from the trash? He became a lunch time helper to the school janitor and has earned both service awards and coupons for free meals. An ingenious idea on the part of the restaurant. Who takes their kid without buying the whole family dinner? The real perk to this job though is the amount of dumpster diving that can take place without any hassle. He has bottles of white out and pads of administrative stickers. These are from the preschool downstairs. Oscar has used them for his new pastime. Finding out every ones address and phone # in his class. It is a coup among 4th grade boys to know where their sweetheart resides and Oscar is the go to man.
And this is where he sleeps. This is how is bed always looks. Yep, there is a helmet, cardboard box, scads of papers, scissors, remote car, tons of books, pens, stickers, box of Petes old business card, anything you need. I asked for tape yesterday but he played dumb.In the long run I ended up bartering for it with a piece of string he had been eyeing. I would like to say that his bed looks uncomfortable but truthfully mine would probably be the same if I didn't have Pete to keep me in check. So, I just wanted to add my ode to Oscar. I know I already posted but just had to share my love for my special boy.

I think we should have all paid Oscar for being the babysitter extraordinaire on the trip. He was so great with the kids--like a camp counselor or something. He was a great sport. I didn't get a chance to vote on Oscar's survey. I vote No because I think he's perfect just the way he is.

Annisha-
Thank you for the vote. I agree with you. I remember that Siobhan was already way into teenage things by this age and I hope and pray that Oscar will stay the way he is for years to come. He has big plans for when we get back!
Oscar is a gem!!! What a sweet boy! I really love him. I enjoy all of the things about him. I love that he still has the napkin. I am proud to be a part of that survey. I also loved the FBI paper. I hope my is never inspected by this group :)
I think my vote would be yes to the blond. Oscar is a true individual and I am proud to be his grandfather. I have never met anyone who could entertain himself so completely . I was curious as to who's phone number is important enough to keep in his bed. Love you round!
