Tonight at 7

Ahhh! I am falling behind today and will be so sad if I don't get a list up here. It feels like I am not the only one. Everybody I have spoken with recently has shared the same sentiment. There is just not enough time to get everything done in a day. Pete and Hans have started our seeds for this years vegetable garden. We composted last year and had some great compost to add when we turned the soil. I am really excited to see what will come up this year. I worked a little on the front yard but then I realized that Easter is in March and not April and I had big plans for some new Easter outfits. When will I fit in all the TV watching that fell behind from vacation? I don't really watch that much TV, the kids take care of that. Hans and Olive mostly just watch Spongebob. It is on in the morning, right when Oscar is getting ready to leave for school so it is a convenient distraction. There are some shows we love to watch together. Planet Earth, Dirty Jobs, Cash Cab. Pete and I both have a hard time even listening to some of the shows Siobhan and Oscar will watch. Hannah Montana, Drake and Josh, Suite Life of Zach and Cody. My grandma was a huge TV watcher. She didn't drive or work outside the home and she lived for her stories. Ryans Hope, All my Children, One Life to Live and General Hospital. Those were staples. It was not even a consideration to ask if she would like to go out between the hours of Eleven and Three. I remember Laverne and Shirley, Barney, Mamas Family and Alice being regulars in the later afternoon. I'll still watch those shows just for the feeling of Grandmas house it will give me. So, I guess it's pretty obvious what this weeks list is. What are your favorite TV shows? This is another one that if I go back a ways I can probably rack up quite a list, so here's my five......

#1. First I would say any British comedy. My favorite is Are You Being Served?, another Grandmas house favorite. I also love As Time Goes By, To the Manor Born, Keeping Up Appearances, Last of the Summer Wine. All of them. My favorite time of night for years was between 10 and 11pm when everyone was asleep and it was Brit Com hour in Salt Lake. I miss that.

#2. No Reservations. This one Pete and I watch together. I like Anthony Bourdains sense of humor and the a lot of the food looks so good. That has always been something I have always loved about Pete. He would watch cooking shows and then the next day make what he saw. He is a lot of fun to cook with.

#3. A Haunting. My Mom and I found that we both watched this and it was fun to discuss episodes with her. I do believe in ghosts and this show scares and fascinates me at the same time.

#4. The Office both British and American versions. I think I may have enjoyed the BBC Office a teensy bit more. I loved this series. Ricky Gervais is a pure genius.

#5. I think the TV show that Pete and I may have enjoyed the most together is My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss. Just like most of our favorite shows(Arrested Development, sure to be on Petes list) it was cancelled and we were never able to finish the season. I loved this show. It was hilarious. It was a reality show that contestants were competing for a position with a large corporation that was completely bogus. I guess I just don't have that much sympathy for reality show "celebrities" because I could not stop laughing at these poor people. The things they would put up with for a chance to work for someone they knew nothing about. The catch phrase became a staple for Pete and I,Get the hell out of my office!!

Yea!! The lists... I hope I'm fast enough to be first. So here it goes. I haven't had much time to think on this so I might have to update later.

1. Grey's Anatomy - my current favorite. I love all of the McNames. McDreamy, McSteamy and so on.

2. Amazing Race - I want to go on this show with my Dad. He also loves this show. This past season I recorded on Sunday nights and he would come over every Tuesday afternoon and we would watch it together. I need a new show to watch with him now that its over.

3. Friends - I got to see an episode taped and this was just sooooo cool. I went with my buddy Jen and we got lucky and got into the taping.

4. Jon and Kate plus 8 - A reality show about a family with twins and sextuplets. If she can do it, so can I :)

5. Food Network - I can't pick one show because this is my default channel. I can leave it on all day and I don't really care who's on. I love them all :)

Fun list!

1.Recently my favorite show is October Road. It fills the void left by Gilmore Girls which filled the void left by ED. ED was my absolute favorite. Oh and I never miss ER.

2.Reality shows- how do I name them all? The girls and I watch Jon and Kate plus 8. Scott and I watch Dirty Jobs. And we all love Little People, Big World. Oh there are soooo many more!

3.Guilty pleasures would be The Hills, Life of Ryan, any and all Real World/Road Rules Challenge, and Tori and Dean Inn Love.

4. Food Network seems to be on all the time. I love Ina, Paula, Alton, Rachel and Sandra Lee.

5. I really miss Big Love and LOVED Deadwood.

Mattie- remember getting together to watch 90210? Wow I watch way too much TV!!!!

Kim- I love the Race also. You and your Dad would be great on it! JOn and Kate plus 8 is awesome. I can't even imagine.

Britty- Of course I remember 90210!...and Melrose Place. I loved Big Love, I haven't seen the second season though. I enjoyed ED also. I hate when the good shows end.

1 The Office-all involved

1. The Golden Girls

2. Friday Night Lights

3. Ghost Hunters-The original, not the new international version. I even go on the TAPS website.

4. Amazing Race-Watched this one for awhile. Grandma and I watched it when we lived together, and now I got my husband into it.

5. Friends-Classic. I pretty much know every episode and line. Of course then I should probably put Sex in the City on my list too. I have the whole series on DVD.

1. Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares - Chef Ramsay is great. Also loved Hell's Kitchen although I think I prefer this show. Makes you think twice before eating out!

2. Both U.S. and British versions. Still holding up well.

3. Rescue Me.

4. Myth Busters, especially now that Mattie made me a Jamie hat. Really just about anything on Discovery.

5. Monty Python. Gone but still great and findable on reruns.

I think it's hard when great shows have an early demise but I'd rather be left wanting more than see them run out of ideas.

1. The Love Boat - I watched it every night for a while as a kid. I caught on pretty quick that every episode was pretty much the same with only minor variations, but I still watched it. It may have something to do with my fascination with cruising now.

2. The Biggest Loser - This is about the only reality TV show I've gotten really hooked on. I don't totally understand my fascination, but I think I've watched every episode since it aired.

3. M.A.S.H. I saw every episode at least a couple times.

4. Super Nanny - It makes me feel better about myself.

5. HGTV - All the real estate shows are my favorites.

I just have to clarify the second "matilda said" list is actually Pete. I do find David Cross dreamy but do not wish to be like Anthony Bourdain when I am 50. But that would be perfectly acceptable for Pete.

Annisha- I love the Super Nanny comment. I got into Flip This House or something of the sort for awhile. Last Easter my sister Alex and my brother in law David got hooked on The Montelago family. They were so obnoxious we could not get enough of them!

Dad- Why don't I have a picture of you in the Jamie hat???

1. Antiques Roadshow
2. Lost-the only show that I make a point of watching every week
3. Peoples Court-I have learned a lot watching this show, I consider it educational
4. Flip This House-Like Annisha, I love almost all of the real estate shows but this is my favorite, especially the Montelongos
5. Seinfeld-We only get cable for about 3 months of the year (NBA Finals time), so we see a lot of Seinfeld and Friends reruns. I also love Curb Your Enthusiasm.
6. Dexter-I'm putting this out there for anyone who hasn't heard of it. CBS is running the first season Sunday nights at 10, but we ordered it on Netflix and got addicted. You can watch the episodes off Netflix online and when the DVD was over David went to computer and finished the whole season in one night. Gruesome, but great!
