I have lots of pictures from Sequim this past few days, but I will have to hold off until I post my birthday tribute to Pete. Yesterday was his birthday and he turned 33, the same age I have been claiming the last few years. My brother in law David (Baconater), also shared the July 4th birthday and turned 31. Happy Birthday Big Wave! We celebrated yesterday with some hot wings and beer and some fried chicken and some more beer and peach crisp and did you know that Pete likes beer? My dad and Sharon were in town and all the Williams crew made it. We had some kind of fun and Pete even managed to corral his buddy for a short while. Malachi and Pete have a special bond and I love how sweet Pete is with him.

One of the things I love that Petes family does is the hot seat. On your birthday you are in the hot seat and everybody tells a story about you or shares something they like about you. It has occurred to me that my birthday posts are a little like the hot seat. So, let me share some of my favorite things about Pete.
Pete is a great dad. He is totally devoted to the kids.Part of my fun in watching Hans is imagining what Pete was like as a kid. He and Hans look so alike at the same ages. My sources inform me that Pete was a fun kid, kind of a crybaby, and was always very good to his brothers and sisters( except Melissa). Not unlike Hans who refers to Siobhan as his "arch enemy". He enjoyed star wars and break dancing. He was in scouts and LOVED Star Lab. He is a really talented musician and was in a band. He toured the United States with them and recorded and album on Sub Pop records. He has done some pretty fun things.
When Pete gets it in his head to try something, he does it. I love when I can see a quick idea form in his head and next thing you know we are making soap or going clamming. He makes a lot of great dinners when he is inspired by something that he has seen or read. He makes awesome jewelry, something I hope he will work at more now that he has a new dremel tool.
The thing I love best about Pete is that he loves me unconditionally. I remember when we met and were dating ,his brother Aaron would laugh and say that we acted like we were married. We would both moan and groan and state we were never going to get married. Not to each other, not to anyone. Three months later we decided we would indeed be married and spend our lives together. Sometimes I think"How did this happen?" It just was meant for us and I am often surprised by how happy he makes me and how much I love him. Pete likes to think he is grumpy and quiet and reclusive. I won't lie, he can be. But, he is mostly really fun. He is thoughtful. He took two hours of buses just to make the ferry on his birthday so that I could leave a few days earlier and have more time with my dad. He changed his work schedule so that he could ride the train and not make me have to get up early.

Nice hot seat! I love you too Peetie Weetie my little sweetie!(As I like to call him!)(ps... we started calling him Peetie when the movie "Pete's Dragon" came out. That's what they call the Pete in the movie.) Hope you had a great Birthday! I'm excited for you all to come visit! Love you guys!
Peter Pantsless: We had so much fun with you over the holiday! Thanks for being such a cool guy.
Hope you had a great birthday Pete!
I hope your birthday wasn't a blur.{somewhat of a beer comment}. With all the action you get with 15 people going up and down, we never lose anyone. Sometimes that amazes me.
So, happy birthday again to Pete and our boy David. May the sun always shine on you. Love, Mom
