What was I doing?

I can't believe it's already Wednesday. A week from today I will have an official teenager. So much to do before the kids get home. I had big,big plans for their rooms and have not abandoned all hope yet. I feel that Washington state itself is trying to help me by making it cold again. Enough so that it's time to take the Ugg boots back out from the back of the closet. I am positive I will find a hundred reasons not to go upstairs. This is a problem for me. I can barely complete what I start. I have always had this problem and it is frustrating. I'll come up with an idea, start it and then move on to another. The original idea will take another few months to complete and in the meantime, I have started 10 others. At my last doctors appointment my doctor brought up the idea of this link between depression and ADD. I find that to be completely possible, but I like how I operate. I have a pretty fun life. I have millions of ideas. Sometimes, when I do say them out loud, I know that Pete is thinking it will never happen, but sometimes it comes through. Here is something I recently completed. I bought the 1980's Empire Strikes Back sheet about a year ago. I finally cut into it a few weeks ago, and yesterday? A completed project. A take along place mat, for camping.

Carries your silverware and a napkin and rolls up nice and neat. I love novelties.
So, with that wrapped up, I can move ahead to something else. Or, I can start something new. There a million things I would like to try and I promised myself I would learn something completely new this year. So, without further ado, my list of 5 things I would like to learn. (Did we do this already?)

#1. German. Pete has been talking up our anticipated 10 year anniversary trip to Germany. I would like to learn to speak the language. I would love to take the classes at Rick Steves travel in Edmonds.

#2. Crochet. I would like to learn this for one reason. I want to make one of those super bright granny square throws.

#3. I would like to play violin in a mariachi band.

#4. I would like to learn both Mexican Folklorico dancing and clogging or square dance. Pete will love this and I will win if I somehow get him on board to dance with me.

#5. Stained glass.

Hope to see you at some classes!

I love the tablecloth. Great job!

1. Basket weaving. There is a lady here in Sequim that teaches classes on different styles. I am hoping to take it soon.

2. Speaking fluent Mexican. There are programs where you go and live with a family in Mexico and get a crash course of the language. Your father says that I am too old and that it is meant for young people..he is probably right, but I still would like to do it.

3. Silversmith. I would love to learn this. It scares me to think of the cost of materials though.

4. Upholstery. The things you could bring back to a beautiful state with this art.

5. The next Mrs. Sees. Something that cannot be accomplished, I'm sure. But, it would be fun to try. Also, cake decorating would be a hoot too.

I don't know about anyone else. But everytime I complete one of these lists, I suffer from angst..oh my, what a shame, I forgot to put.... So, maybe one of the next lists could be,"things we forgot to put on a previous list." Lot's of love, Mama

I don't know if this is kosher to comment on a lister's list????????? But, I just wanted to respond that Luisa is also a fine chef. Hello! Tortilla soup, banana lumpia and fried chicken that could make the colonel rich and famous.

Mom- I saw an antique setee on Craigslist that needed upholstering and thought, "What a great idea for a project." I would gladly be a test taster for any chocolates you wish to experiment with. Also, I comment on as many comments as I can, I always have something to add!

Luisa- I would like you to start a blog dedicated to your driving progress.

Alexia- I cannot wait for you to learn to drive, then I can call you for rides! Maybe we can help each other out with the crochet.

Trisha- Please start a blog! I would love that. We will be in SLC on Aug.8 and we will be there through the 17th, no excuses, we will be hanging out! Maybe we can do some sewing together. I have to ask, has Ryan tried to teach you guitar? I would love to learn and Pete has tried but I think I need an outsider. Can't wait to see you!

April- I need to clarify, is the pole dancing with just the heels? I cannot remember if I ever told you my awesome ghost hunting experience. Our friend is in a ghost hunting society and before Hans was born I went with him and Pete on one of their "jobs". I was walking around with the video camera and walked into the doorway of a bedroom. As I was panning the room I realized I had stepped on something and looked down to see a man lying face down on the floor. The tape is awesome because you can hear me gasp and then the tape stops. He was just sleeping, on the floor! I was so scared. We'll have to share experiences sometime.

Brittney, You should definitely use your machine! I was so nervous to ruin things at first but now it is so fun and relaxing. I also vote for surfing, you are in such a great place for it!

Nice placemat! Cathy, which beautiful state were you bringing things back to, California or Washington? Also first Mrs. Doubtfire and now Mrs. Sees, who next?

1.Fly a plane. Maybe I can start with one like the one in Mad Max.

2.Play the drums. Wonder if Aubrey give lessons.

3.Read the entire dictionary.

4.Hike the Appalachian Trail.

5.Stop procrastinating !

Hello, Anonymous Alex are you out there?

Mattie: I will only do a blog on my driving progress if Todd can come with me. If he can live through an alligator attack I am sure he can live through my driving lessons.

1. Dancing. This is really more of a wish for my next lifetime since I don't think you can teach rythm.

2. Painting. I don't think stick figures and houses with chimneys with curly smoke coming out really count, do you?

3. Cheesemaking. This goes back to my dream of being a farmer as well as my unconditional love of cheese. I have also always wanted to churn my own butter.

4. Enology, for the same reasons as above.

5. Slam dunk like the pros.

6. Just for vanity I have always wanted to learn how to style my hair and put on makeup.

I forgot to add that in regard to #5, David once lowered the basketball hoop in our driveway so that I could try and dunk. It didn't work out too well, I can't palm the ball and couldn't catch enough air to do anything exciting anyway.

1. To play ukulele like a polynesian
