clap,clap,stomp stomp

This past weekend we were in Sequim, helping(?) my Mom and John with their garage sale. While I was there I looked through some of my Moms pictures, supervised of course. I am queen of taking pictures of pictures. Eventually I would like to copy some but for now this serves my purpose. I also really love the size of the old, square photos. I think I am going to try to start using my Kodak Instamatic a little. Anyway, I took this photo because it so captures how I think of my Grandpa Fred. Out in his garden. "Good, good," to this and a "glorious," to that and a "hmm, hmmm, hmmm". Permed and mutton chopped, he has always been very stylish. Sadly, on my way home from Sequim I heard he had suffered a stroke. At this time he is still in the hospital and although doing well, is struggling along. I hope all the best for him, please say a prayer for him. And my Dad also, I wish I could be there for him. To lighten the mood and hopefully make him laugh a little I am going to share this photo. Also, I don't want Alex to think I post embarrassing photos of her only. This was during the "Let's Get Physical" craze. I believe it is my 9th birthday. I wore this, at my party, with friends from school. Don't ever let it be said that I cannot laugh at myself.

Also, I posted a picture as part of my Alex birthday post where my shorts were riding high. My Mom made a comment that we were always pulling them up. I know my dad has backed the theory that it was my Mom and here is a little proof.....
Also, during my photo searching I was able to find a little slice of history. You may recall this post involving some maroon corduroys. Well, look what I found!
And this!
And this! They got a lot of wear! Also, don't think the mullet in the first picture went unnoticed.
Now to the last order of business. It is Wednesday and I am feeling a little redeemed to have found there has been some computer issues and not just a lack of interest. It has been an odd time around here. Emotions are high, the weather has been miserable and school is winding down. I feel in a limbo and am sad that there is a lot I haven't done that I have wanted to lately. Siobhan and Oscar will be with their Dad for 5 weeks and I am already having anxiety over that. I am loving my time with my Mom but I still really miss Utah. So, to try and push myself over this hump today's list will be 5 plans for summer! Here is some of mine....

#1. First will be Mt.Rushmore/Deadwood/Yellowstone. Only two weeks. Also, there is a possibility that Ryan and Trisha will be in Yellowstone when we are. I hope so, we are keeping our fingers crossed!

#2. Next trip will be to Utah for Cooper and Chases 1st birthday!! A week in Salt Lake City will be great. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting Melissa's new baby girl!

#3. I plan on picking buckets of blueberries, strawberries and blackberries this year. Last year I didn't pick enough and this year I plan on making a lot of jam. U-pick season starts this week!

#4. Lot's of sewing.

#5. I want to ride my bike along the trail that goes from my house all the way downtown Seattle. I may have to stay overnight though in order to ride back. Hint, hint Pete.

First let me say, that picture was misleading. I think I was pulling them down. For real. Also, is that Olive in the picture? The picture of Dad does definitely capture his personal. It's a great picture and I especially love that you have your arms through theirs. All you girls look so cute. I remember making that dress you have on. It is purple corduroy...a family favorite. Well, I attempt my list of summer do's.

1. Camping. A Sculley must. We will try to get the kiddies together for some nature and fun.

2. Visits from our loved ones back home. We are so looking forward for Dad and Sharon's visit. We can't wait to see them. Also, the twin says he's coming and Terry and Jane and Al and Deborah. I'm excited!

3. Gardening. I'm ready to get out there and putter. It's just been so cold and uninviting. Supposedly that will soon change and I'll be ready.

4. Sleepovers with all the babies. I know I will be in the kitchen aplenty with the reservations that have been made. Bring it on!

5. Fishing. It's time to get it together and do some fishing. We visited Lake Crescent a couple of days ago and it has a beautiful fishing spot. Plus, there are numerous fishing holes that we haven't even explored yet.

1) Yellowstone with the Lindgrens. (Yes, we are coming!!!)

2) Finish painting the exterior of the house. (Any one want to help.)

3) Spend as much time with Ryan and the girls as I possibly can.

4) Anything outdoors. Camping, gardening, hiking, etc.

5) Finish a book I am doing about my grandpa's time in the army (WWII). He has hundreds of absolutely amazing pictures that he took overseas.

Mom- Now that you live in Washington, I should inform you they say "supposebly" instead of supposedly. Don't want you branded as an out of towner.

Joslyn- I should have worn that for the red in the family picture!

Trisha! I am SO excited!! It will be fun. I also should warn you that the kids have Nintendo Cats as well as Dogs now. I would love to see your book sometime. When I was at my Moms I found quite a few pictures from my Grandfather during the war as well. I can't wait to compare notes over the campfire!

It's been a while since I 've done a list. So here are some of our summer plans.

1. Yellowstone - I wish we were going to be there at the same time. That would have been fun.

2. Cooper and Chase's first birthday party! - We are excited you'll be here! Jeremy and Annisha should be here by then also!

3. Lot's of yard work - Last summer it got neglected.

4. Lot's of walks outside - the boys love to be outside and they're pretty good in the stroller. We've been cooped up all winter and I'm still waiting for good weather... hmm...

5. The zoo - I know they won't really care, but I'm excited to take them!

I'm so excited that we'll be in Utah at the same time again!

1. Plenty of beach days

2. Reading alot while my kids play in the wading pool

3. Lots of sushi, shave ice, and everything else Hawaiian

4. Disneyland

5. Living with my parents in August and spending lots of time with Family!!

I'm even more excited about summer now that I've made that list. Thanks, Mattie! I hope things are looking up for you.

First off, there was nothing misleading about the picture. I think I remember your Mom getting out the step ladder to get your shorts just a little higher! The maroon cords? Just following in your stylish Gpa's desert booted footsteps. As for the mullet, if you look closely I think you'll see it's just the wind blowing my hair! Now for my list:

1. Visiting the fam in OR> and WA. This is going to depend on Grandpa's recovery.

2. Continue sifting through stuff and getting ready for the big move north.

3. Soaking up all I can of this beautiful peninsula before ripping myself away next year.

4. Spending lots of time with Siobhan and Oscar. I'm so excited they'll be here.

5. Clean my room. This could take the whole summer.

1. Camping, starting with this last weekend in Silver Falls, where we did a 9 mile hike past 10 waterfalls.

2. Throw a big BBQ party July 6th.

3. The Country Fair in July with our friend Tom Sted, and hopefully Sheridan Days with Pat Cully.

4. Fence in our side yard.

5. Table tennis of course, and bike riding along both rivers, especially the Columbia.
