Easter 2012

Happy Easter everyone! I hope you all had as much fun as we did. I will admit, it was a little bit of a rush job getting everything together for today, having just gotten home last night. Luckily, it all came together. The kids were happy with their Easter baskets, didn't complain at all about the lack of egg dyeing, and were excited to go to Grandma and Grandpas and be with their cousins. Even Todd got in on the action.

It was a beautiful day today. We worked in our backyard and are getting ready to do some planting soon. The kids were out all day playing and are just dog tired tonight. So are the adults.
We had a great time up at Grandmas house. We had a great dinner and enjoyed being with everyone. I got to hold our new nephews. Tate and the twins, Shawn and Noah. They are all just darling and I cannot for the life of me figure out why I didn't get pictures of them! The kids had their egg hunt and ate tons more candy.
Here's just a portion of the kids with Grandma and Grandpa. I really love seeing them all together and being a part of their lives, small as it is sometimes. I love seeing Johannes Sr. and Johannes 3 together. Those two are cut from the same cloth for sure. By the way, the necklace is now a part of Hans' everyday look, along with a black glove he cut the fingers off of. Just one glove, ala Michael Jackson. I wouldn't question it unless you wanna be startin' something.

We came home and had some Capirotada and wine with our neighbors and it was a perfect ending to a perfect spring break. Tomorrow is back to school/work so I think I will wrap this up for tonight. I hope that everyone had a great Easter ! And, thank you to all that have been so encouraging about my return to the blog!

Ha ha. Your funeral potatoes were great--just as good as any Mormon makes them. I would have preferred to try some Capirotada, but family tradition must live on! You have a wonderful family. Your kids are so good and good to eachother. It was great to see you all.

Thank you Annisha! I did use one of the ward cookbooks I have been given! I was going to bring Capirotada with me, but then looked at my little pan and realized it wouldn't be enough for everyone. Maybe sometime soon we can get together for dinner and I'll make it for dessert. It was really nice seeing you and all your beautiful family.
