Jump Around

Well, well, well, I really had the best of intentions to start the year off with a post but it just did not come to fruition. My mom and John left yesterday to head back to California for several doctors appointments before returning. I already miss them. They were a huge help and I really enjoyed having so much time with my mom. I'm not sure who knows or not but my mom has Lyme disease and has had a difficult few years. It's nice to have a fellow sickie around. Luckily she has had some positive results with some new medication and I think this will be her year to shine. So, today I am alone with the kids, until tomorrow when Petes mom is due to arrive, followed by his dad on Friday. They will be here through the weekend. My dad will also be coming for 5 days toward the end of the month. So, it will continue to be busy, which is nice. I hope that everybody had a nice new year. We had Luisa and the kids over and besides the noise of 10 kids, it was pretty uneventful. Malachi did manage to get his head stuck in a chair. I knew there was a reason we call him Charlie Brown. Good grief.

So, I had an idea. I am a talker. I always feel like I have something to say, be it interesting or not. This is another reason why I read the paper. I can always bring up a current event as a last resort. Sometimes though, I feel stumped here. It's different when I know that it will be retained here and that there are people I may or may not know reading it. So, I was thinking on Wednesday I will add a list a week. A different topic each time. I like lists, it's kind of a hobby. The catch is that I would love if someone could post the list on their blog with their answers. Or, if you don't blog, add it in the comments. Wouldn't that be kind of fun? For me it would. Either way I'm standing by my list idea, so today begins the first of my Wednesday lists. Maybe we'll stick to lists of 5, that's not too many. Now for a topic...hmmm.....I think I'll start with bands I have seen live. Some may surprise you...

#1. Bad Manners... several times

#2. George Strait and Charlie Daniels Band

#3. No Doubt.... late 80's,not the new stuff

#4. The Skatalites... also several times and one of my favorites

#4. House of Pain... in of all places, Salt Lake City

I can't wait to see what kind of musical secrets you hold. Don't feel pressured if you don't have 5. And now, I can't leave without a photo posted..... The two (somewhat)blonds, you know what they say, they have the most beauty sleep to catch up on .......

I will also throw in New Kids on the Block in Oakland even though I only got to see maybe 10 minutes.
Chris Isaacs was definately my favorite!

I can't imagine you at a George Strait and Charlie Daniels show. This is so funny because Jeremy and I were just having this conversation yesterday as we painted our kitchen. Otherwise I'd probably draw a blank. Here's my list:
1. They Might Be Giants
2. Chicago.....several times
3. Midnight Oil
4. Sting
5. New Kids on the Block....okay, the honest truth is that someone bought me a ticket and asked me to babysit their young girls there so that they wouldn't have to go

Umm... Alex?...I believe I said we were keeping the list at 5. Also, I was waiting to see if you would have an excuse for New Kids, I think I'm the only one who hasn't so far. I think David should add a list as well. I was also wondering if watching Hilary Hahn on youtube counted?

Mattie- If Alex breaks 5 then I'm going to as well. And might I say how jealous I am that she saw Oingo Boingo! I didn't remember seeing some of these groups until I sat down to make a list. Do you remember when we got tickets to see Smashing Pumpkins and they canceled? That is was concert I would have liked to have gone to. Oh well!

1.Slow Gherkin - with you and Pat
2.Janet Jackson - twice
3.Train - twicw
4.John Denver - with my parents but it was at Red Rocks
5.Herman's Hermits - ditto
6.Monkees reunion tour
7.NKOTB - who didn't see them?
8.Chris Daughtry
9. Jewel
10. Five for Fighting
11.B-52's
12.Hootie and the Blowfish
13.Los Lonely Boys
14.Alanis Morisette
15.Switchfoot
16.Smash mouth
17.Ace Young
18. Hannah Montana - even if only one song, over and over again! The things we do for our kids.

I promise I will keep it to 5 next time!

Brittney- I wish I saw Train! Another NKOTB fan, I can't believe it! All these list outlaws, I should have made it 10. I do have to add that the House of Pain show was cut short when Everlast was advised to cool it on the swearing and he got pissed and removed his pants! That's right, a naked Everlast, pre heart attack! Top that Jordan McKnight!!

Time for a senior take on this:
1. Santana
2. Devo
3. Bob Dylan
4. Oingo Boingo
5. Ray Charles
I too will throw in NKOTB : reference to Alex and Luisa.
I must admit to being envious of Annisha for Midnight Oil, Alex for Morphine and Brittney for the B-52s.

3. Go-Go's

April-
I am so glad to hear from you!! I am jealous of The Go-Go's. Did Travis happen to be with you? I know he was in love with Belinda Carlisle throughout middle and high school. Both my husband and my son were impressed with Weezer and Foo Fighters. Hans was obsessed with The Sweater Song for about a year. It's recorded in his build a bear. I hope you're doing well and hope to hear from you more!

I should have checked with April before I wrote my comment. Her and I went to Dixie Chicks and Tears For Fears. I guess that brings me up to 20, I can't believe that.
