Teenage Wasteland

My Dad arrived yesterday. I have been looking forward to this the last couple of weeks. He is here by himself for 5 days. I really have to thank Sharon. That leaves her at home to tend to the cat and dog and my grandparents. It's fun having my Dad on his own for a few days and then Alex will be here Friday and my Mom and John and the Williams for a send off. So, today we are just going to mosey around the city and check things out and tomorrow Pete will be home and we are going to have a day with no kids.
So, it is Wednesday. I spend a lot of time thinking about this blog. I am always composing blog ideas or actual posts in my head for future use. If it was for writing in a journal I think sometimes it would be different. I always want to write what is honest and true to me but I also do not want to offend anyone. Sometimes when I read back at things I've written I wonder what someone who doesn't know me well must think. Do I seem shallow? Crazy? Conceited? I wonder how a stranger would view me based on this blog. I wonder what people who do know me think, has this blog changed their opinion of me? It's easy to hold back flaws and shortcomings when you are the author. I do think though, that I have made it clear that I am Queen of the crushes. I am not ashamed of this, I think Pete knows most all of them. When someone pops up on TV he'll say "There's your boyfriend." He'll ask me,"Should I grow my hair out like that?" Things like that are what make him my ultimate crush. On the other hand, Pete never says a thing and I always wonder what "celebrity" he would pick. So I chose this weeks list hoping I could weasel it out of him. I don't know, maybe he would tell me if I asked but is aware that I am prone to cattiness and jealousy. I will admit that I have serious doubts about posting this one. Alex gave me a much classier, more mature topic idea that I will save for next week. I know this is shallow and juvenile but I am dying to know who shows up on your list. It doesn't have to be currently, we have all had childhood crushes(NKOTB?). I don't think we grow out of it. My stepmama Sharon went crazy for Bo Bice, so I know I can't be alone in this. So, top five "celebrity"crushes.( I hope Pat puts The Au Pair.) Here's mine...
#1. Jemaine Clement....uh...duh.....
#2. Michael Jackson ( middle school)
#3. David Byrne
#4. Phil Collins ( also middle school)
#5. Buster Bloodvessel (Bad Manners)

Have a good Wednesday. I'll be back tomorrow with tales from Seattle with my Dad!

I'm really anxious to see Pete's list now, too.

1. Jon from NKOTB (eleven years old)
2. Tom Cruise (middle school, just until I realized I was taller than him)
3. Steve Young of NFL (high school)
4. Matt Lauer (college)
5. Bob Harper (current--I wouldn't really say that I have a crush on him, I just think he's cool)

Have fun with your dad!

Good thing I'm not still in middle school, otherwise this list would never end. Annisha, I was a huge Jon fan at that age too, and Steve Young is a good choice. Who is Bob Harper?

1. Bret (FOTC)
2. Johnny Depp (also short but so am I)
3. Sam Elliott (great voice and mustache)
4. Hugh Jackman (especially as Wolverine)
5. Ben Wallace (more so when he was with the Pistons)

2. Katy Jurado - Actress - High Noon
3. Olivia Hussey - Romeo and Juliet
4. Irene Cara - No explanation necessary
5. Taylor Dayne - Before the plastic surgery

I have to tell you that Pete's band was going to play a show with the Foo Fighters once. He's met Dave Grohl and knows the bass player and original drummer. How did I forget John Cusack??

This one was a stretch for me. Even though i LOVE celebs (They're just like us!) Here it is:
Alyssa Milano-1989(My brother Jeremy had a poster of her in a New Jersey Devils hockey uniform. HOT!)
Jodhi May-(The younger, quiet sister from Last of the Mohicans)
Natasha Gregson Wagner-(for the Cusack fans, she's the writer he makes the mix tape for at the end of Hi-Fidelity. I was also an extra in a movie she was in that was filmed in Salt Lake)
Eliza Dushku- Not so much anymore that she's famous. But I did see the original "Bring It On" in the theatre.(yes the cheerleader movie)Long story...
Lastly, Aimee Mann- She was in a Rush video in 1987, and ever since the Magnolia Soundtrack I've really enjoyed her music.

Mattie-
No I have never seen the one with Mike in Monterey. Dirty Jobs did come down to the pier to do some taping one time. I had Scott keep a close eye out for Mike! But he never did see him.

My heart is broken that I was not mentioned until the ninth posting! It's not easy getting older. I'm especially distressed that Matilda didn't list me, and after I autographed a photo for her!!
